True Blue Weekend Brings Campus Together

Diplomat spirit rippled across campus Oct. 5-6 as 顶级国产视频 & Marshall College welcomed an estimated 2,100 students, parents and alumni to True Blue Weekend. 

Visitors got their first glimpse at the recently opened Lombardo Welcome Center, in addition to a striking new ampersand statue in front of the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. 

Throughout the weekend, F&M visitors enjoyed open houses in many academic departments, coffee hours, campus tours and reunion gatherings. Alumni, friends and families made their way to dozens of events across campus Saturday afternoon, including athletic competitions and a lively tailgate gathering at Williamson Field. Student and alumni authors enjoyed a 20th anniversary gathering at the Writers House.

The rumble of stomping feet on metal bleachers echoed from Shadek Stadium as the Diplomat football team secured a thrilling 23-14 win over Dickinson in the 115th game in the rivalry that stretches back to 1889. The field hockey and men鈥檚 soccer teams walked away with victories at Tylus Field, while women鈥檚 soccer secured a tie.

Ensuring the Success of the College That Brought Them Together

Katja Seim 鈥95 and John Parapatt 鈥95 met for the first time at F&M in 1992. More than 30 years later, the two demonstrate gratitude for the college that brought them together through philanthropy. 鈥淥ur giving is motivated by a desire for other students to have the opportunities that we had, including financial support,鈥 Parapatt said.
