Growing Through Community: Evann Tan '25 Reflects on F&M's Impact
Evann Tan 鈥�25 was eager to engage with the F&M community, build supportive relationships, and grow both intellectually and personally. Tan said the relationships he built鈥攚ith professors and peers鈥攈ave been the most meaningful part of his time at F&M. 鈥淭he mentorship and guidance from faculty have helped shape my academic and professional journey, while the friendships I鈥檝e made here will last a lifetime,鈥� he said.

Why did you choose to attend F&M?
I chose to attend F&M because of its strong emphasis on close student-faculty relationships, its rigorous academic programs, and the supportive community. The small class sizes and the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with professors and peers made F&M the perfect place for me to grow both intellectually and personally.
What is something that you did for fun at F&M?
I enjoyed F&M鈥檚 annual Halloween trips to Hershey Park, organized by the College Entertainment Committee (CEC).
What did you enjoy most about your time at the College?
The relationships I built鈥攚ith both my professors and my peers鈥攈ave been the most meaningful part of my time at F&M. The mentorship and guidance from faculty have helped shape my academic and professional journey, while the friendships I鈥檝e made here will last a lifetime.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I鈥檒l be pursuing a master of science degree in sustainability management at Columbia University.
What brief advice would you give to incoming students in F&M鈥檚 Class of 2029?
Embrace every opportunity that comes your way, and don鈥檛 be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Some of the most rewarding experiences come from taking risks and trying something new.

Kennedy Wilburn 鈥�25 Leads on and off the Court
Kennedy Wilburn 鈥�25 wanted a college where she could excel on the basketball court and in the classroom. She found that and more at F&M, where she became women鈥檚 basketball co-captain, a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Council, and an active participant in other student organizations on campus.
