F&M Ranked Among Fulbright Award Top Producers
For the fifth consecutive year, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program recognizes Ƶ & Marshall College among the top producing institutions.
Top producing institutions are those with the highest numbers of graduating seniors and alumni awarded Fulbright scholarships for the academic year.
The College has received this honor for years: 2014-15, 2015-16, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, and now 2021-22.
For the second year in a row, F&M is tied for 6th place among baccalaureate institutions with a total of seven awards offered. The college was just one of two undergraduate institutions in Pennsylvania named to the list.
The top-producer designation is based on Fulbright awards that F&M students and alumni received the previous academic year.
Over the past decade, Fulbright success has blossomed at F&M. A dedicated Office of Fellowships and pair of advisers help students and alumni navigate the complex application process.
In addition, F&M's Fulbright Fellowship Committee gives invaluable feedback to applicants.
"I'm really touched by how many members volunteer for this committee year after year. We interview every single applicant. We also work with them as they refine their essays to ensure they put forward the best application possible," said Monica Cable, director of fellowships and senior teaching professor of anthropology.
Another strength "is the breadth and depth of our language studies on campus," Cable said.
The cohort of Fulbright students for the 2021-22 academic year will be announced in late spring.
